my crochet and knitting friends

WELL i asked at another forum i was on and basically they thought it was a made up story, even with me saying an old teacher of mine requested this. So i will tell you all the in depth back story on it. One of my old teachers whom i have known for over 30 years sent me a message on face book, because we are friends on there, and she knows i crochet, i made something for her daughter who just had a baby, this is what she asked me.


Hey Tiffani, I need to know if you have any hats that will fit a two year old...She had to have brain surgery on the 6th of this month and they had to shave 1/2 of her head...She was abused and now her Mom is living with me and we are praying that we will be able to bring her home by Thanksgiving...She was abused by someone her Dad knows...she was with him last weekend when it happened...Please let me know if you have something real cute for this precious child ad how you charge for about 2 or 3 and I will send you a check for them...we cannot let this sweet little girl questioned about why she has hair on one said of her head and not on the other...these people are under investigation for this and they will be charged for second degree murder to a child...So keep her and her mom in prayer...the child is in state custody right now...

i told her there was no way in heckadory that i would let her pay me, i am going to try to make 2 hats before thanksgiving, i have family coming in and i am not the fastest in the world, i wanted to see if anyone here (since no one wanted to at the other forum) wanted to make one for her so she could have more than 2 hats to choose from. She is 2 years old, and Mary is getting me her head measurement (just in case with having her head shaved and the surgery there is a change in normal head size) so i will give it as soon as i have it if you would like to help. IF NOT, i completely understand, it is near the holidays and we are all busy, BUT i have had such a warm reception here and people here actually talk to me so i thought i would offer the opportunity!

I personally think this is a wonderful idea. I wish I knew how to crochet, I would be the first one to join in on this.

You are on my forum "The Doll Spot". I think it would be great for you to post this story there as well, I know that there are a couple of ladies who would probably do this to help you out.

Oh, what a kind and generous thing for you do this for this real live baby!! Poor child! For several years I served on the Child Welfare Board in our county here in Texas, USA and I know horrible child abuse is!! How I wish I could crochet!!

Your post is fine. I do though, wonder how they will charge the guy for murder when the child is alive. Did you mean attempted murder? I hope he is found guilty and has to cringe the whole time he is in prison cuz in prison child abusers are targeted.....HA! Even in prison there IS some humanity!! All those harsh criminals have no tolerance for child abusers....good for them!

Admin, i forgot to add when i posted this Mrs Mary is a little older and tends to go a little overboard, she could have meant attempted, she was pretty distraught when she wrote me.

They have her (the little girl) in ICU for the next 10 days keeping an eye on her.

I am going to talk to her daughter there and see if there is an update on anything else tomorrow, i have talked to her and gotten an update as of what i have just told you guys. Going to ask if i can share her name with you all too.

The reception on here was much better than the other forum. so Thank you all for being so great! And i will keep you updated!

As of yet she has only received one hat from Utah, i dont know where you are is that yours? LOL

I am in Canada and mailed it last Tuesday so she could get it anytime!

Shipping is delayed due to the holidays already but it shouldn't take long.

looking forward to seeing them and I hope the little girl is far along in her recovery. One thing though...you said they were being charged for murder...or did you mean attempted murder? The child is still alive...right!
